TRANSFORMATIONS and MYSTICISM
DRAGONOGRAPHY
The awareness that dragons have still a fundamental position of awe and fear in the collective psyche lead me to examine the concept of creating pieces that gave dragons a new interpretation as talismanic valet plates to keep guard over ones possessions at night. Examining the myth in centuries of depictions the DRAGON POWER has evolved combining renaissance and medieval meaning and imagery with the Chinese dragon identity of power, strength and good luck. The resulting transformation is a very fluid autonomous imaginarium as opposed to the contemporary fantasy or digital imagery which have standardised dragons into generic identities with no metaphysical potential.
Each Dragon Power piece is a world in its self, in the painting of dragons at a certain point they come to life and dictate their own final identity, becoming not only unique but also dynamic and omnipotent figures, guardians of your realm.
